Synap 1000 Customers

Celebrating 1,000 Customers!

Today marks a significant milestone for all of us here at Synap – after lots and lots of hard work, we’ve reached our first 1,000 paying users, just three months after launching our partnership with Oxford University Press that saw some of their most popular revision materials for medical students being offered on the Synap Store.

We’re thrilled that so many people are using Synap and practicing with OUP’s quizzes. We made Synap as a tool to help with our own studies, so to see it being used by so many people is really great to see.

Over the coming months, users can expect to see a number of significant improvements to Synap. Firstly, we’ll be launching the long awaited Synap Mobile App for iOS later this month, with an Android version following shortly after. The addition of a mobile app will make it even easier for students to study ‘on the go’, and to stay up to date with their spaced repetition schedules.

In addition, we’ll also be adding improvements to our results feature, so you can drill down and see graphs of your performance over time, along with several other changes which we think regular users will really appreciate. On the content side, we’re getting ready to release a more content from Oxford University Press in January, and are looking to work with several other publishers in different fields, to make Synap the go-to platform for online quizzes.

I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported us to get to this stage: Jisc, who awarded us a grant, and mentorship in the very early stages of development, Spark at the University of Leeds for all of the fantastic work they do for student enterprise, all of our investors and the team at Crowdcube, our friends and families for putting up with… everything that happens to your social life whilst running an early stage business… and of course all of our users who have invested time into Synap, and in many cases have been giving us invaluable feedback that has helped shape the platform’s future.

On that note, we’d like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We have huge (YUUGE!) plans for 2017 and can’t wait to get started 🙂
